My Rock


As I lay eyes on you for the very first time I knew
You would be my rock, my strength, my glue
Your big brown eyes staring back at me
Through your eyes I was able to see
My life as I knew it had just been changed
From Mother to Child a new love exchanged
To you I vowed early to never let you down
Made you a promise to always be around
And though I've made my share of bad calls
You tender look of love assures me you love even my flaws
You are my first born, my sweet baby boy
Watching you grow brings me so much joy
Each day to my life you bring something new
Bringing a smile, or an I love you
You make each of my days a bit brighter
You make me stronger and more of a fighter
